Baselworld: more than just an exhibition
The history of Baselworld dates back to almost one hundred years ago. The firstindustry exhibition in Switzerland had section devoted to watch making and jewellery in 1917. First Swiss Watch Show took place in dedicated pavilion in 1931. Show changed its name to BASEL in 1983. Other Europeans companies took a part in exhibition in 1986. Show became Baselworld The Watch and Jewellery Show only in 2003. The name of the exhibition came from the place – Swiss city Basel.
Baselworld is more than just exhibition. It is marketplace and detector of trends and innovations of watch making industry and jewellery business. Baselworld has evolved from classical trade fair to international platform for watch making and jewellery companies around the world. It is considered as one of the most important watch exhibition.
It is global platform – more than 2000 exhibitors from all over the world meet at the exhibition last year. They represent watch and jewellery brands, most innovative and successful players, suppliers and company from related technologies sectors.
